Folding Heat Shield to Cool My Workshop

The roll-up door in my workshop is a huge problem in battling the summer heat, so I built a set of panels to act as a radiant barrier, which I can fold out of the way when I need to use the door.

To get the best results possible, I also tested numerous combinations of radiant barrier and foam insulation board, before settling on the final configuration.

Of course, I couldn’t resist turning them a bit Googie-style before I was done.
